Description

  • Own ideation and copy execution across multiple brand workstreams and campaigns with minimal supervision.
  • Develop integrated concepts and copy with art directors and designers across print, digital, video, social, and multichannel work.
  • Translate complex scientific, clinical, and medical information into clear, audience-appropriate messaging.
  • Contribute to brand positioning, messaging frameworks, campaign rationale, and narrative development.
  • Maintain high standards for tone, structure, accuracy, brand consistency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor copy development across assigned projects and provide hands-on writing, editing, and direction as needed.
  • Present concepts, copy, and creative rationale clearly and persuasively in internal and client meetings.
  • Partner with account, strategy, science communications, editorial, and project management teams to align creative execution and workflow.
  • Manage and mentor junior and mid-level copywriters, including feedback, coaching, and performance development.
  • Support pitches, organic growth opportunities, and new business initiatives.

Requirements

  • 7-9 years of related copywriting experience in advertising, marketing, or healthcare communications.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical, life sciences, or AOR agency environment preferred.
  • A portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, persuasive writing, and execution across multiple channels.
  • Ability to lead copy development across multiple brand workstreams with limited supervision.
  • Ability to interpret complex science and translate it into accurate, engaging communications.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to sell strategic creative ideas to internal teams and clients.
  • Experience managing, mentoring, and developing junior and mid-level copywriters.
  • Strong working knowledge of pharma copy requirements, including claims, references, annotation, FDA/OPDP expectations, and MLR review.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat; adaptability to evolving creative, AI, and medical review tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Life Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in rare disease, particularly neuromuscular disease, is a plus.
