Description

  • Oversee daily operations of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems to ensure uninterrupted facility performance.
  • Ensure facilities meet cGMP, ISO, FDA, GMP, and OSHA requirements and support audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Manage critical laboratory utilities, including DI/RO water systems, lab vacuum systems, process chilled water, CO2 gas, and liquid nitrogen storage.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair of facility systems and laboratory equipment using CMMS tools.
  • Oversee safe storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous chemicals and biological materials.
  • Lead facility upgrades, laboratory expansions, and capital improvement projects.
  • Serve as the primary lead for critical infrastructure supporting cleanrooms and specialized laboratory utilities.
  • Maintain documentation and operational readiness for regulated laboratory and manufacturing activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • 5–8+ years of experience managing laboratory or regulated facilities, preferably in biotech, pharma, or life sciences.
  • Experience supporting laboratory and/or GMP-regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, including HVAC, BAS, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Experience with CMMS/ERP systems for maintenance tracking and asset management.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements including FDA, GMP, and OSHA.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and support cross-functional teams.
  • Experience supporting cleanroom environments in regulated laboratory or manufacturing settings preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Facilities Management Professional (FMP) preferred.
  • Experience managing lab-specific infrastructure and utilities, including DI/RO water systems, vacuum systems, and process chilled water preferred.
