Description

  • Lead overall performance of the Inspection Center, including multiple shifts and up to 500 associates in a lean manufacturing environment.
  • Set strategic direction and planning to ensure the facility can meet current and future demand.
  • Provide leadership guidance and reinforce Carvana culture, values, and management behaviors throughout the location.
  • Spend time on the shop floor to stay connected to operations and model effective leadership behaviors.
  • Lead production planning, capacity management, and weekly performance reviews for each area of the center.
  • Identify operational problems, prioritize issues, allocate resources, and drive resolution to improve performance.
  • Ensure standardized work, operating rules, 5S, visual management, health and safety, and loss prevention standards are consistently followed.
  • Participate in hiring and selection, maintain a leadership bench, and support progression-path training and certification.
  • Coach, mentor, and provide competency-based feedback to reconditioning managers and other leaders.
  • Lead continuous improvement events and problem-solving efforts, and hold the team accountable for results.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of management experience in automotive or a lean manufacturing environment leading multiple work groups.
  • Valid unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record in the last 3 years.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Proven track record of leading and developing associates.
  • Proven ability to achieve project deliverables and company metrics.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including different shifts, overtime, and weekends when needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing production environment with exposure to heat, cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with and through teams to achieve results.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently and walk up to three miles each day.
  • Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check.
