Description

  • Manage the movement of cars into and out of the Inspection Center safely for repairs while meeting production and quality goals.
  • Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly inventory production targets.
  • Oversee day-to-day team operations and identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Coach, develop, and manage performance for hourly associates.
  • Create a positive, communicative team environment aligned with Carvana’s values.
  • Communicate expectations, performance measures, and goals clearly to team members.
  • Prevent and resolve conflict among team members.
  • Monitor adherence to systems, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Review and approve mechanical and physical defects of incoming inventory.
  • Partner with the Inspection Center General Manager to decide whether inventory should be repaired or rejected.
  • Train production associates on quality control standards to complete repairs correctly the first time and minimize rework.
  • Work safely and help reduce the risk of injury in the shop.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and manage multiple associates.
  • Provide guidance on complex issues and support effective issue resolution.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience using computers.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Demonstrated functional expertise in one or more areas of Carvana’s reconditioning process.
  • Demonstrated understanding of current reconditioning processes and lean principles.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, including no DUIs and no more than two moving violations in the last 3 years.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to work in environments that may be cold, hot, noisy, wet, or include fumes or odors from vehicle maintenance.
  • Ability to use required safety equipment such as face shields or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, masks, and protective garments.
  • Ability to maintain high volume and high-quality output in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and professionally, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and work overtime, weekends, and variable schedules as needed.
  • Ability to resolve complex issues with guidance from others.
  • This role is not visa eligible and not eligible for visa sponsorship.
