Description

  • Perform bodywork on multiple vehicle panels, including heavy plastic welding, minor metal pulling, roof and rocker panel repair, and large-area heavy bodywork.
  • Complete Bondo repair as part of multi-panel body repair work.
  • Use state-of-the-art tools and equipment in Carvana’s high-tech Inspection Centers.
  • Work mandatory overtime when needed to support customer delivery timelines.
  • Follow safety procedures and use required protective equipment while working in a production environment.
  • Help ensure vehicles are repaired and reconditioned to Carvana’s quality standards before reaching customers.
  • For higher-level prepper roles, train other autobody technicians and perform extensive bodywork across multiple panels.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional automotive bodywork experience.
  • Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools and lift up to 60 pounds independently.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Some positions may be subject to an MVR (Motor Vehicle Records) check.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing production environment.
  • Willingness to work mandatory overtime based on business needs.
  • Ability to work in exposure to weather conditions such as heat and cold.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check.
  • This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
  • Preferred / related experience may include 1 year for entry-level prep roles, 3–5 years for mid-level prep roles, or 5+ years for experienced prep roles.
  • Experience with heavy plastic welding, metal pulling, stud welding, roof and rocker panel repair, and large-area bodywork is relevant.
  • ASE and tool reimbursement programs are available, indicating ASE certification and tool ownership may be advantageous.
