Description

  • Lead the development of onboard power systems from design through build, sea trials, certification, and offshore mission support.
  • Provide engineering support for electrical systems, including low-voltage control systems, ground systems, and telemetry systems.
  • Support offshore recovery campaigns to ensure systems operate safely and effectively during landing and recovery missions.
  • Apply lessons learned from initial recovery platforms to future vessel designs and improvements.
  • Help establish engineering and operational practices as the recovery team grows.
  • Collaborate with Terran R designers, launch pad builders, rocket engine testers, contractors, and suppliers on cross-functional work.
  • Contribute to system requirements definition and design for maritime recovery vessels.
  • Support shipyard build and activation activities and other hands-on vessel integration work.
  • Work with the team across the full project lifecycle, including operations at sea.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in electrical power systems development, integration, or support.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply engineering fundamentals to solve complex technical problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across technical and operational teams.
  • Experience coordinating with contractors and suppliers.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25% of the time.
  • Ability to work additional travel or non-standard hours based on project needs.
  • Must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work at the Cape Canaveral, Florida partner location.
  • Experience with low-voltage control systems and/or RF systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with marine regulatory and certification standards such as USCG, ABS, or DNV preferred.
  • Experience with multi-bus power architectures or fault-tolerant systems preferred.
  • Experience supporting vessel construction, retrofit, or shipyard operations preferred.
