Description

  • Supervise, mentor, train, and manage accounting staff while distributing workload to meet departmental deadlines.
  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements for accuracy and GAAP compliance.
  • Develop and implement improved accounting procedures and internal controls to increase efficiency.
  • Ensure financial operations and reporting comply with Federal WIOA, local, state, and corporate policies.
  • Direct financial planning, fund management, accounting, and reporting across assigned projects.
  • Lead preparation and maintenance of project budgets, forecasts, and working capital requirements.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for senior leadership, Executive Directors, contracts, and customers on financial performance.
  • Oversee employee expenses, participant expenses, vendor invoices, and program payroll analytics.
  • Manage monthly project advance requests, invoices, supporting documentation, and payment coordination with Workforce Boards.
  • Lead month-end close activities, including balance sheet reconciliation review, and manage annual audit deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP and the ability to reconcile complex balance sheets and profit/loss reports.
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasts across multiple funding streams, especially WIOA or government contracting, is highly preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and accounting software proficiency.
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Adaptive Workday, and Expensify is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and work effectively in a virtual or remote setting.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and strict month-end deadlines.
  • Must maintain high ethical standards, confidentiality, and availability to work PST business hours with minimal travel.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $85,000 to $90,000 based on experience.
  • Minimal travel required.
