Description

  • Lead design, production, coordination, and architectural detailing as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Lead and assist in coordinating engineering systems with engineers and consultants.
  • Partner with Design Leadership to carry through design intent and coordinate project assignments and documents.
  • Prepare design sketches for moderate to complex site plans.
  • Communicate project status, design intent, construction updates, and other critical information to owners, consultants, and clients.
  • Participate in business development activities and support Marketing and Office Leadership to help grow revenue.
  • Take a proactive leadership role within the project team and office, including in team meetings.
  • Perform field site observations and site visits, including physical walkthroughs of project sites.
  • Develop and maintain positive client relationships throughout the life of the project.
  • Integrate performance-based and sustainable design strategies when possible.
  • Lead project teams using CannonDesign methods, best practices, tools, templates, and technology to improve service delivery, quality, productivity, and profitability.
  • Supervise, monitor, train, and direct interns and less experienced team members.
  • Monitor technical quality by enforcing QA/QC standards and ensuring statutory requirements are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
  • 8+ years of related professional experience is required.
  • Current architectural registration in the United States is required.
  • CDT and LEED accreditation are preferred.
  • Knowledge of building codes and requirements is required.
  • Strong business acumen is required.
  • Strong critical thinking and highly analytical abilities are required.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of latitude and some ambiguity is required.
  • Client-facing experience with strong verbal and written communication skills is required.
  • Strong technical knowledge and coordination skills are required, along with the ability to build rapport with and lead the project team and client.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite is required.

  • Ability to complete mandatory training, including compliance training, within required timeframes is expected.
