Description

  • Lead and mentor the development team to advance projects through gate reviews, financial close, and Notice-to-Proceed.
  • Align development execution with organizational goals and strategic initiatives.
  • Co-author Investment Committee submissions and support capital deployment decisions.
  • Facilitate the handoff from development to EPC execution and establish governance for transitions.
  • Evaluate strategic opportunities such as joint development partnerships, new client relationships, and internal workflow improvements.
  • Oversee design coordination with engineering, including equipment selection and site layout development.
  • Manage interconnection, permitting, and technical due diligence, including timeline and cost-at-risk tracking.
  • Oversee development spend across the portfolio, ensuring decisions reflect risk, contractual obligations, and strategy.
  • Manage and cultivate key client, utility, and regulatory relationships and represent the company in high-stakes forums.
  • Ensure accurate project documentation, stakeholder reporting, development tracking, and regular project update meetings.

Requirements

  • 15 years of experience in energy project development and leadership.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful, bankable behind-the-meter projects and portfolios.
  • Direct experience with solar, battery storage, microgrids, and CHP technologies.
  • Experience leading late-stage development activities and guiding multiple projects to Notice-to-Proceed.
  • Executive presence and experience managing cross-functional project teams.
  • Proven experience managing key client relationships, including Fortune 100 customers and data centers.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with internal stakeholders, customers, regulators, and financiers.
  • Understanding of financial modeling and project economics, with ability to support Investment Committee processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, or a related discipline; MBA or further education is a plus.
