Description

  • Support and advance food safety and quality assurance initiatives across the organization.
  • Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to meet food safety, quality, and compliance objectives.
  • Maintain and improve food safety programs, processes, and documentation.
  • Support supplier and product quality initiatives, including issue resolution and corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support related to specifications, food safety standards, and quality expectations.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory updates, and emerging food safety risks.
  • Help ensure alignment with food safety regulations, customer requirements, and internal standards.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support communication and collaboration between departments to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices across food safety and quality programs.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in a food safety role, preferably in produce, meat, and/or seafood.
  • 3+ years of experience in a processor or distributor facility or within a national foodservice organization.
  • Master’s degree in food science, safety, or a related field preferred.
  • Foodservice industry experience is highly desirable on the supplier, distributor, or client side.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and strong personal productivity.
  • Excellent communication skills, including listening, written, oral, and group presentation.
  • Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, spreadsheets, databases, and SCM planning/execution applications, including ERP systems.
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
  • Solid supply chain knowledge, including distribution, logistics, procurement, manufacturing, transportation, inventory management, and supply chain visibility.
  • Ability to work autonomously, solve problems, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
