Description

  • Own the full data platform, including the warehouse, streaming and batch ingestion, semantic layer, and BI infrastructure.
  • Define and enforce data governance, including access management, quality standards, and a trustworthy gold layer.
  • Ensure the warehouse serves as the source of truth for operational, product, and financial analytics.
  • Build and ship machine learning models for forecasting, prediction, optimization, matching, allocation, and reliability scoring.
  • Stand up production ML systems, including feature pipelines, training, serving, evaluation, and drift monitoring.
  • Design the learning loop by instrumenting decisions and outcomes so models improve continuously.
  • Drive the AI agent initiative into production with product and engineering partners.
  • Lead, manage, and grow the data and ML team as the platform matures.
  • Establish a clear intake process for ad hoc data requests and keep the team focused on roadmap priorities.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Finance on data-driven analyses and decisions.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in data and machine learning, including 2+ years in a leadership or staff-level role owning a data or ML platform.
  • Experience as a player-coach who can lead a team while staying hands-on with architecture, modeling, and code review.
  • Experience with modern data warehouse design, such as Snowflake or BigQuery.
  • Experience with streaming and batch ingestion, dbt or equivalent, and performance and cost optimization.
  • Experience with data governance and access management.
  • Proven experience building and shipping production machine learning models with real business impact.
  • Experience building the surrounding ML systems, including feature pipelines, serving, monitoring, and MLOps.
  • Experience building data and ML products, not just pipelines, with understanding of product and business goals.
  • Familiarity with modern AI, LLM, and agentic data work is a strong plus.
  • Experience at a high-growth startup or scale-up where the platform was built rather than inherited.
