Description

  • Architect, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend systems and microservices.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, optimize, and tune systems during traffic peaks, escalations, deprecations, and outages.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for critical Sunday morning broadcasts and other peak periods.
  • Integrate BoxCast systems with SaaS applications including Stripe, HubSpot, Avalara, Intercom, PandaDoc, ShipStation, Atlassian, and Datadog.
  • Evaluate emerging cloud and AI technologies and assess their potential business value.
  • Participate in planning, status, and review meetings to deliver software improvements.
  • Collaborate with product designers, software engineers, hardware engineers, and business teams.
  • Mentor colleagues, share technical expertise, and contribute to architecture and design decisions.
  • Improve system reliability, security, efficiency, and operating costs.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience or equivalent.
  • Expertise in live video and audio streaming technologies.
  • Backend development experience with Go, TypeScript, and Ruby.
  • Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform or CloudFormation/CDK.
  • Experience with Docker and containerization or virtualization technologies.
  • Experience with AWS EC2, ECS, S3, Lambda, ALB/NLB, VPC, security groups, and CloudFront.
  • Experience with monitoring and telemetry tools including Datadog, InfluxDB, Grafana, and OpenSearch.
  • Experience integrating SaaS applications through APIs, webhooks, and logging.
  • Experience with SQL and MySQL databases.
  • Availability for Sunday morning and other peak-period on-call rotations.
  • Ability and interest in solving complex problems at scale.
  • Knowledge of the live production ecosystem, C/C++, Vue.js, or developer-experience improvements is preferred.

  • Annual salary of $115,000–$140,000.
