Description

  • Design low-latency service architectures and establish explicit p95/p99 latency budgets.
  • Architect audit, evidence, event-log, versioned data, replay, and outage-state systems.
  • Design secure multi-tenant environments using appropriate database, schema, and row-level security strategies.
  • Design and build scalable RESTful APIs and SDK integrations.
  • Create capacity models and AWS cloud cost/performance projections.
  • Establish technical standards, conduct architecture and code reviews, and mentor engineering teams.
  • Produce architecture documentation, diagrams, and technical decision records.
  • Present and defend architecture decisions during client engineering and security reviews.
  • Deliver end-to-end architecture for large, complex systems while maintaining client commitments.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years in architecture-focused roles.
  • Deep AWS experience designing low-latency distributed systems and applying AWS Well-Architected principles.
  • Strong PostgreSQL/AuroraDB and Row-Level Security expertise at the data-modeling and architecture level.
  • Expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, and scalable RESTful API development.
  • Experience with audit/evidence systems, durable commits, historical replay, and fail-open/fail-closed semantics.
  • Experience architecting secure multi-tenant systems and evaluating RLS, schema-per-tenant, and database-per-tenant approaches.
  • Experience with event-driven design, queues, caching, and compliance-sensitive or regulated domains preferred.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants in daily development.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, documentation, communication, ownership, attention to detail, and ability to overlap US business hours.
