Description

  • Report to the Translation Manager and provide written translation and live interpretation during meetings with foreign stakeholders.
  • Translate minutes, reports, and formal letters between English and French.
  • Translate in both directions, from English to French and French to English.
  • Answer language-related queries and support service users who need language assistance.
  • Collaborate with other volunteers on ad hoc projects.
  • Participate in translation work for events as needed, based on availability.

Requirements

  • C1 level or higher proficiency in both English and French.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Translator/Interpreter.
  • Experience providing virtual interpretation on appropriate platforms.
  • Experience working independently and with teams to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written communication, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Close attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Trello and Microsoft Teams.
  • A relevant degree or training in Languages or Communications is preferred.
  • Some knowledge of climate change, climate finance, and blockchain technology is preferred.
