Description

  • Design, build, and support board-level and product-level functional test stations for hardware devices.
  • Serve as the Directly Responsible Individual for test stations, owning development, deployment, and production support.
  • Develop, review, and debug test station software with strong error handling, logging, and diagnostic capabilities.
  • Analyze test data and measurements, perform root cause analysis, and document findings and solutions.
  • Communicate status, risks, blockers, and investigation results to global stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvements in test coverage, processes, and systems.
  • Partner with engineering teams on testability requirements and with factory teams on implementation and rollout.
  • Manage competing priorities across stakeholder groups while balancing immediate production needs and long-term improvements.
  • Independently debug and resolve station issues and respond quickly to factory-impacting problems.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing.
  • Clear written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Experience working in Python, Labview, or a similar programming language.
  • Experience in statistics and using SQL, JMP, Matplotlib, or similar data visualization tools.
  • Ability to read schematics.
  • Knowledge of circuit design at the maker level or beyond.
  • Comfort working on hands-on projects across electrical engineering, software, and/or mechanical engineering domains.
  • Experience with hardware lab equipment for test and measurement, such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and DMMs, and/or prototyping tools such as Raspberry Pi, Arduino, 3D printing, and power tools.
  • Strong methodical engineering problem-solving skills for challenges outside your expertise.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally 20% as needed.
  • Clear written and spoken Mandarin communication skills (preferred).
  • Familiarity with board-level (SMT) and product-level (FATP) electronics manufacturing processes (preferred).
  • Experience reading and understanding electronics circuit diagrams and schematics (preferred).
  • Experience with analog measurements such as RF, acoustic, or optical testing, including calibration and control of systematic errors (preferred).
  • Experience managing contract manufacturing test engineering partners and supporting GR&R, DOE, and factory test dry runs for prototype NPI builds (preferred).
  • Experience driving yield and cycle time optimizations (preferred).
  • Experience writing clear reports such as Build Reports, Station Issue Lists/Material Issue Lists, and SOPs (preferred).
