Description

  • Build and continuously improve the bank’s fraud program, including documentation, metrics, reporting, communications, and oversight.
  • Manage updates to the Anti-Fraud Policy and related program documents.
  • Develop key risk and performance indicators for board, senior management, and day-to-day fraud program management.
  • Review fraud observations and drive actions and escalations as needed.
  • Develop and oversee a change management process for fraud process updates in partnership with Block Risk teams.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, Risk, Operations, and Legal to align fraud program requirements.
  • Delegate and oversee tasks on underlying fraud-related projects.
  • Participate in audits and regulatory examinations, including addressing deficiencies and preparing responses and action plans.
  • Represent the fraud program on cross-functional initiatives such as new product launches, technology enhancements, and vendor management.
  • Complete additional projects and duties as directed.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in fraud at a bank or financial technology company across both commercial and consumer products.
  • Experience building fraud programs from the ground up or evolving existing programs, not solely handling investigations or operational execution.
  • Strong knowledge of federal fraud rules and regulations and the ability to translate legal and regulatory concepts into practical business requirements.
  • Experience working with data and technology teams to build machine learning and heuristic fraud signals and rules.
  • Experience collaborating with data analytics teams to develop fraud KRIs and KPIs and present them to different audiences.
  • Experience using AI to augment and scale work.
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external partners across complex concepts and workflows.
  • Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, strategies, and work processes across multiple operational units and affiliates.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, owning projects with little direction, and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Active CFE or CAFS designation, or similar, preferred.

  • Starting pay range of $156,200–$234,200 USD in Zone A, $145,200–$217,800 in Zone B, $137,400–$206,200 in Zone C, and $129,600–$194,400 in Zone D.
