Description

  • Create and develop high-quality real-time VFX using a proprietary game engine.
  • Author immersive VFX for new features in an existing IP in collaboration with creative leads.
  • Work with tech art and programming to solve problems and meet visual and performance targets in-engine.
  • Own the VFX pipeline from asset creation through in-engine implementation.
  • Take ownership of all VFX-related tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate deliverable updates clearly to the team.
  • Reuse existing VFX assets such as textures and materials to create new effects from existing libraries.

Requirements

  • 4 years of proven experience developing VFX for games.
  • Strong understanding of 3D software such as Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender.
  • Experience with 2D software such as Photoshop, Substance Painter, and Substance Designer.
  • Strong grasp of timing and shape for VFX.
  • Strong proficiency in developing shaders and materials for real-time visual effects.
  • Experience with dynamic FX scaling and variable integration at runtime.
  • Proficiency in optimization techniques for visual effects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • AAA game experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Embergen is a plus.
  • Coding and scripting knowledge is a plus.
  • Passion for sci-fi games and/or related media is a plus.
  • Experience working on existing IP and its assets is a plus.

Benefits

  • $80,000 - $90,000 a year.
  • Temporary full-time remote position.
  • 9-month contract.
