Description

  • Contribute production code in the Encoding team’s sprints using Java/Kotlin and C++.
  • Own technical support for US enterprise accounts during EU off-hours.
  • Triage, troubleshoot, and drive encoding incidents to resolution or clean handover.
  • Travel to customer sites to support integrations, run workshops, and handle escalations in person.
  • Feed customer and field learnings back into sprint planning and the product roadmap.
  • Make independent decisions on when to resolve issues versus escalate them.
  • Maintain clear asynchronous communication with the EU team.
  • Define and document a repeatable forward-deployed support playbook.
  • Run customer integrations or workshops end to end.
  • Create documentation based on how customers use the product day to day.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of senior-level software engineering experience.
  • Strong experience in Java or C++ and ability to contribute production code.
  • 2+ years in a customer-facing technical role such as solutions architecture, professional services, forward deployed, or named-account support.
  • Experience with AWS and/or GCP, Docker, and scalable distributed services.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills on live customer systems, including log analysis, error diagnosis, and network traces.
  • Open to AI-assisted development workflows and comfortable using tools like Claude Code.
  • Excellent written and verbal English for working with enterprise engineering teams.
  • High autonomy and sound judgment when owning issues end to end during US hours.
  • Based on the US East Coast or in Denver, and willing to travel regularly to customer sites.
  • Must already have the right to work in the United States.
  • Video streaming domain knowledge, including codecs, container formats, HLS/DASH, and OTT encoding workflows, is preferred.
  • Experience with Bitmovin or competing encoding platforms such as AWS MediaConvert/Elemental, Harmonic, or MediaKind is preferred.
  • Live streaming, incident management, or on-call experience is preferred.
