Description

  • Own AI sustainment and governance for workplace AI tools across enablement solutions, purchased tools, and custom builds.
  • Evaluate, benchmark, fine-tune, and troubleshoot machine learning and generative AI models in production.
  • Partner with data science, ML engineering, engineering, security, legal, HR, finance, and vendors to resolve issues and shape decisions.
  • Manage AI licenses, entitlements, usage, allocation, and cost optimization.
  • Monitor production performance, drift, adoption, and usage trends to recommend improvements, roadmap changes, or deprecations.
  • Lead AI governance processes, including policies, guardrails, approval workflows, exception handling, auditability, and compliance.
  • Orchestrate model swaps, configuration changes, releases, and post-deployment monitoring.
  • Own support ticket triage and incident response for AI tools and platforms.
  • Design and maintain prompt libraries, connectors, extensions, secrets management, and operational playbooks.
  • Build, lead, and develop the AI operations team and provide regular status, risk, and budget updates to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • 15+ years in platform operations, ML/AI operations, DevOps, or SaaS sustainment roles, with leadership and people management experience.
  • Direct hands-on experience developing, training, fine-tuning, or evaluating machine learning models or generative AI systems.
  • Working knowledge of AI/ML research practices and the ability to apply research to production decisions.
  • Software engineering or data science background sufficient to work deeply with technical teams on design and tradeoffs.
  • Experience with AI platforms or orchestration tools, such as LLM providers, n8n, or enterprise SaaS integrations.
  • Strong understanding of generative AI versus traditional ML, including differences in risk, skills, and team design.
  • Background in governance, compliance, or security for data-driven or AI systems, including audit, logging, and access control.
  • Experience managing licenses, budgets, and cost optimization for SaaS or AI tools at scale.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability stacks, including logs, metrics, and alerts.
  • Strong technical fluency across APIs, connectors, and integrations.
  • Proven track record building and leading high-performing teams, including hiring, mentoring, and contractor management.
  • Excellent executive communication skills for senior business and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience operating in a hybrid environment of core team members and contractors.
