Description

  • Provide legal guidance on U.S. regulatory and law enforcement expectations affecting crypto and financial activities.
  • Advise on AML, sanctions, securities, commodities, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Coordinate with Legal Department leadership and management on regulatory litigation and government agency relationships.
  • Support the company’s response to regulatory investigations, enforcement actions, and compliance reviews.
  • Communicate with U.S. regulatory agencies and their representatives to facilitate effective engagement.
  • Partner with compliance, risk, and business teams on complex legal and regulatory issues in the U.S.
  • Advise the business on evolving U.S. regulatory developments, associated risks, and compliance strategies.
  • Support regulatory filings, remediation efforts, investigations, and enforcement matters as needed.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience handling legal issues, including litigation and contentious regulatory matters.
  • Preferred experience with U.S. financial regulators such as FinCEN, SEC, CFTC, OFAC, and state regulators.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. AML and sanctions compliance programs.
  • Practical experience supporting or advising on AML and sanctions frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of U.S. financial products, including spot trading, margin trading, futures, and options, especially in crypto.
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage complex legal issues proactively.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • In-house legal experience and experience with internal remediation efforts are a plus.
