Description

  • Build and improve consumer-facing backend experiences with a focus on code quality, scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Develop and expand the company’s Laravel-based betting platform using PHP.
  • Work on Python-based internal tools and supporting systems.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team of more than five developers on a large-scale PHP/Laravel codebase.
  • Participate in scrum-based development processes and help improve engineering workflows, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure.
  • Write clean, readable code and help improve the codebase through disciplined software engineering practices.
  • Work remotely on complex backend problems while communicating technical concepts clearly across teams.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional backend development experience.
  • Expert-level proficiency in PHP.
  • Deep experience with the Laravel framework.
  • Professional experience or strong proficiency in Python.
  • Understanding of database design and SQL.
  • Experience working remotely.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to ensure completeness and accuracy of work.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to drive initiatives end-to-end.
  • Bonus: Interest in or experience with DevOps practices and tools such as CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
  • Bonus: Experience with asynchronous programming.
  • Bonus: Experience with Kotlin or Java.
  • Bonus: A passion for sports and understanding of how to engage fans.
