Description

  • Mentor and direct staff to strengthen technical skills while projects are being executed.
  • Manage technical project elements, including determining required analyses and appropriate methods, software, and design assumptions.
  • Ensure the development of high-quality engineering documents.
  • Communicate technical progress and issues to the Project Manager in a timely and ongoing manner.
  • Follow internal quality control, documentation, and project tracking procedures.
  • Contribute to project work as a technical specialist or advisor as needed.
  • Provide input into the growth of the practice and support strategic initiatives.
  • Perform, review, and manage technical analysis and design.
  • Take responsibility for the completeness of design details and ensure compliance with PQMP.
  • Work toward becoming a leading subject matter expert in targeted areas of the discipline.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related discipline is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • NCDOT experience is preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate with others in a team environment across a variety of tasks.
  • Advanced knowledge of software appropriate for land development, with proficiency in most programs specific to the role.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and standards governing land development.
