Description

  • Lead a team of engineers and provide technical oversight to deliver project milestones.
  • Architect and evolve scalable data pipelines using Python and PySpark on Databricks.
  • Lead the design and implementation of data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration frameworks.
  • Mentor and coach data engineers through technical leadership and guidance.
  • Drive performance optimization, cost efficiency, and system reliability at scale.
  • Contribute to the long-term data platform strategy and roadmap.
  • Review designs and code, providing constructive feedback and raising engineering standards.
  • Research and build proof-of-concepts for new data technologies and approaches.
  • Write, review, and debug clean, maintainable code and resolve defects proactively.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and participate in Agile ceremonies and planning.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or backend/platform engineering.
  • Strong expertise in Python, with deep hands-on experience using PySpark.
  • Proven experience designing and operating production systems in Databricks.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and distributed computing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience in analytic programming, data extraction, querying databases/data warehouses, and data analysis.
  • AWS experience with services such as S3, EC2, Glue, Lambda, or Redshift is preferred.
  • R experience is preferred.
  • SAS experience is preferred.
  • Professional Databricks or Apache Spark certification is preferred.
  • Experience with Jenkins is preferred.
  • U.S. citizenship or legal right to work in the United States without sponsorship is required.
  • Must have lived in the U.S. for at least the past 3 years and be eligible for a Public Trust background investigation.
