Description

  • Act as a hands-on technical leader, spending about 75% of time on roadmap execution, system architecture, code health, technical guidance, and code reviews.
  • Manage the remaining time on people leadership, including mentoring engineers, setting expectations, monitoring performance, and building a high-performance culture.
  • Drive cross-team collaboration to align multiple teams around shared goals and deliver value at scale.
  • Own technical oversight for the design, development, maintenance, and operations of one or more software systems.
  • Promote innovation by introducing new technologies and encouraging creative problem-solving.
  • Ensure quality assurance, risk management, issue resolution, and process improvements across the team.
  • Manage release communication, production deployments, post-release analysis, and ongoing system support.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and act as a bridge between technical execution and mission goals.
  • Support business development and capture efforts by contributing technical content and solutioning for proposals.
  • Collaborate with peers to improve engineering best practices, knowledge sharing, and discipline maturity at Bellese.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • U.S. residency for at least the past 3 years.
  • Ability to meet the requirements for a Public Trust position, including a successful U.S. government background investigation.
  • Approximately 20+ years of engineering team leadership scope is implied by the responsibility to scale and lead a 20+ engineer organization (if applicable, not explicitly stated as years of experience).
  • Experience leading and mentoring a team of 20+ engineers across multiple functional pods.
  • Ability to implement and champion a high-maturity CI/CD methodology with integrated automated testing and security.
  • Ability to quickly learn the QMARS product, CMS client nuances, and the broader system context.
  • Ability to connect how AWS, Pega, Analytics, and DevOps work together as a cohesive system.
  • Preferred experience with government contracting, especially with CMS and other federal agencies.
  • Preferred direct experience or strong familiarity with the Pega ecosystem, including Constellation (React-based architecture) and integration with external cloud services.
