Description

  • Lead legal review of marketing and promotional content.
  • Advise on subscription commerce laws, FTC rules, and state auto-renewal requirements.
  • Partner with influencer teams on contracts, activations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Advise on trademarks, licensing, content clearance, and FDA requirements.
  • Lead privacy compliance across subscription and e-commerce data practices, including CCPA/CPRA.
  • Guide technology and AI initiatives and develop related governance frameworks.
  • Provide legal support for IPSY Mexico’s regulatory, commercial, and consumer-facing matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts.
  • Build legal processes, playbooks, and repeatable compliance frameworks.
  • Manage outside counsel relationships, budgets, and legal spend.

Requirements

  • J.D. degree and active bar membership in good standing.
  • 10+ years of legal experience; a mix of law firm and in-house experience is preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of consumer protection, advertising, marketing, and subscription commerce law.
  • Experience with intellectual property, privacy, and commercial contracts.
  • Experience advising consumer-facing brands, particularly in beauty, personal care, or subscription commerce, preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide practical, business-focused advice to non-lawyer teams.
  • Experience managing outside counsel and legal budgets.
  • Excellent judgment, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth, ambiguous environment.
