Description

  • Simplify complex product workflows in collaboration with product owners and customers.
  • Lead the migration to a consistent, component-based Vue 3 front end with a shared design system.
  • Refactor legacy PHP and Laravel code into clean, testable services while reducing technical debt.
  • Improve application and database performance through query optimization, indexing, caching, and queues.
  • Establish engineering standards for code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, coding practices, and documentation.
  • Mentor developers, challenge existing practices, and promote quality, pace, and ownership.
  • Deliver the modernization incrementally through safe, regular releases to live customers.
  • Build AI-powered features, including LLM integrations, AI-assisted workflows, and Jerrold capabilities.
  • Introduce AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot, Claude, or Cursor into team workflows.
  • Contribute to technical roadmaps, API design, security, and scalability decisions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional PHP development experience with deep Laravel expertise, including Eloquent, queues, events, policies, and testing.
  • Strong recent Vue.js experience with Vue 3, Composition API, Pinia or Vuex, and Vite.
  • Experience refactoring or modernizing large legacy codebases while they remain live.
  • Strong relational database skills with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server, including schema design, query optimization, and indexing.
  • Strong understanding of automated testing, Git workflows, code review, and CI/CD.
  • Excellent UX judgment and a focus on simplicity and usability.
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to challenge ideas, explain trade-offs, and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience working in or leading small agile teams.
  • Experience building AI features with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, RAG, agents, or tool calling preferred.
  • Experience with design systems, REST APIs, cloud and DevOps tools, C#/.NET, B2B SaaS, field service management, ERP, or workflow software preferred.
