Description

  • Coordinate and distribute Ballotpedia’s daily, weekly, and monthly email newsletters.
  • Support targeted email communications for audiences such as candidates, educators, local organizations, and research clients.
  • Maintain newsletter templates, landing pages, and email signup forms.
  • Coordinate publishing timelines, including special editions and holiday schedules.
  • Ensure accuracy, formatting, and quality control across outgoing email communications.
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries sent to Ballotpedia’s public editorial inbox.
  • Provide helpful responses to reader and candidate questions or route inquiries to the appropriate internal teams.
  • Assist with gathering and reporting key email performance metrics.
  • Support team workflows and project coordination using communication and project management tools.
  • Contribute to additional communications projects, including proofreading, document review, presentation preparation, social media coordination, and video publishing support.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated passion for Ballotpedia’s mission.
  • Collaborative, service-oriented mindset with a positive, team-focused approach.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written communication and proofreading skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Comfort working with digital publishing, email marketing, or communications tools, spreadsheets, and Google Workspace applications such as Google Sheets, Docs, and Drive.
  • Familiarity with project management systems such as Asana or similar tools.
  • Experience with content publishing tools, social media platforms, or basic multimedia editing.
  • Interest in or experience using AI tools to increase productivity.
  • Must have a computer with internet access and be able to work remotely from home.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and complete Form I-9 and E-Verify requirements if hired.

Benefits

  • 100% remote, work-from-home position.
  • Flexible work environment with unlimited vacation.
  • Annual benefits stipend equivalent to $8,000, paid out in equal increments with each paycheck once benefits eligible.
  • Stipend can be used toward health, vision, and dental insurance.
  • Stipend can be used toward retirement accounts and other benefits.
  • Starting salary range of $45,000-$50,000, commensurate with experience.
