Description

  • Build scalable backend services and APIs for the digital merchandising platform.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on architecture and design decisions.
  • Partner with Product Managers to make advertising offerings sound, robust, and easy to use.
  • Work with Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers to collect, analyze, and apply data to improve advertising.
  • Help communicate and implement engineering best practices across the team.
  • Participate in design reviews and code reviews.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Contribute to the development of a feature-rich advertising platform for brands and dispensaries.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience on a product-centered team.
  • Demonstrated senior-level ownership and ability to move work forward independently in ambiguous situations.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and code design principles.
  • Experience solving systems-level problems across distributed systems and infrastructure.
  • Experience with AdTech systems, ideally retail media, sponsored listings, or marketplace advertising.
  • Hands-on experience with ad serving and real-time decisioning, campaign pacing and budgeting, or attribution and measurement.
  • Understanding of AdTech constraints such as low-latency decisioning at scale, accurate pacing and billing, and impression-to-conversion measurement.
  • Database fluency with relational, columnar, and document-based databases and their appropriate use cases.
  • Proficiency in at least one systems language, with Go preferred and Java also acceptable.
  • Strong technical communication skills across code, documentation, and verbal discussion with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative mindset with interest in mentoring, learning from others, and working in a small startup engineering team.
  • Experience proposing, provisioning, and testing infrastructure with cloud ops tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation (preferred).
