Description

  • Build and maintain proactive relationships with permitting and zoning officials nationwide.
  • Act as the regulatory liaison between Axon and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
  • Own end-to-end permitting workflows across multiple states and municipalities.
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable tracking and reporting tools for permit operations.
  • Optimize permitting timelines to align with ALPR project schedules.
  • Identify permitting barriers early and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Translate NEC, NFPA, zoning, and environmental requirements into deployment-ready actions.
  • Partner with compliance and legal teams to ensure documentation and approvals are audit-ready.
  • Provide permitting forecasts and impact guidance to project teams.
  • Collaborate with engineering, deployment, legal, and customer success on early-stage planning and execution.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience managing infrastructure, utility, or construction permitting in enterprise or public-sector environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise with NEC, NFPA, zoning, and environmental regulations.
  • Track record of influencing internal stakeholders and external regulators.
  • Certifications such as PMP, ICC Permit Technician, OSHA 30, NFPA, or LEED preferred.
  • Proficiency in GIS, CAD, Asana, and permit tracking systems.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and process-building capabilities.
  • Proven ability to lead in complex, multi-jurisdictional environments.
  • Experience with public safety, DOT, or utility permitting preferred.
  • Proficiency in tools like Smartsheet, Excel, and Asana preferred.
  • Ability to work remotely with 30% travel and remain within commuting distance of Scottsdale, Seattle, Boston, or Atlanta hub locations.
