Description

  • Run the monthly accounting close, reconciliations, and management reporting using Xero, Dext, and banking systems.
  • Coordinate with the external bookkeeper on day-to-day transaction processing and ensure close outputs are accurate and complete.
  • Serve as the main contact for the external tax advisor, provide required data, review filings, and maintain compliance calendars.
  • Manage monthly payroll submissions and reconciliations with the global payroll provider across 16 countries and three engagement models.
  • Maintain corporate governance records, including the share register, AGM materials, board packs, and capital increase documentation.
  • Execute bank transfers, manage the quarterly liquidity plan, and administer fixed-term deposits.
  • Run the weekly vendor invoice and payment cycle, keep vendor records current, and maintain approval workflows.
  • Prepare documentation and liaise with auditors to support the annual limited audit.
  • Continuously review finance processes to identify opportunities for automation, simplification, or bringing work in-house.
  • Work closely with the Finance Manager and external providers to ensure all finance operations are handled with precision and ownership.

Requirements

  • Around 4 years of experience in finance/accounting, ideally including 1–2 years in Big 4 or mid-tier audit and 2–3 years in a tech startup owning real accounting work.
  • Professional German, spoken and written, for Swiss corporate filings, advisor communication, and cantonal governance.
  • Solid understanding of German HGB and/or Swiss OR.
  • Some familiarity with UK employment compliance is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with modern finance tools such as Xero or equivalent, invoice management tools, banking platforms, and ideally Deel or a similar global payroll platform.
  • A process-improvement mindset with a focus on automation, simplification, and challenging manual workflows.
  • Strong documentation habits so processes can be handed over clearly.
  • High attention to detail and a no-error standard for payroll, tax, and audit work.
  • Comfort working with demanding, analytical stakeholders and proactively flagging problems and proposing solutions.
  • Ability to take ownership of outcomes rather than waiting for instructions.
