Description

Lead medical writing and serve as a client contact for assigned accounts.
Develop oncology-focused medical communications content, including congress materials, manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and plain-language summaries.
Ensure editorial quality across client programs from initial planning through final review.
Coordinate with editorial, client, vendor, and project teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Provide scientific oversight for complex projects or workstreams.
Brief, review, guide, and mentor less-experienced writers, including managing content allocation.
Drive internal and external project processes, including compliance activities.
Support business development by identifying, conceptualizing, and strategizing new medical communications projects.
Represent Avalere Health at client meetings, advisory boards, speaker-training sessions, and business development initiatives.

Requirements

Degree in life sciences; PharmD or PhD is advantageous.
Ideally 3+ years of medical or scientific writing experience within a healthcare consultancy or medical communications agency.
Experience developing scientific content across a range of therapeutic areas.
Oncology expertise is advantageous but not essential.
Experience managing scientific content types, including publications, and reviewing content for scientific accuracy and flow.
Demonstrated project ownership, proactive problem-solving, and collaboration in a team environment.
Strong client communication skills and experience serving as a point of contact for clients and external experts.
Ability to lead and mentor junior writers.
Experience managing client relationships.
Familiarity with medical communications compliance and regulatory guidelines.
