Description

  • Act as the lead writer and client contact for assigned accounts.
  • Develop medical communications content in collaboration with the project team.
  • Ensure editorial quality and accurate implementation of assigned client programs.
  • Communicate proactively with editorial, client, vendor, and project teams to keep work on time and on budget.
  • Brief, review, guide, and direct less experienced writers on the account team.
  • Provide scientific oversight for large, complex projects or specific workstreams.
  • Drive project delivery and support internal and external processes, including compliance.
  • Support business development by investigating, conceptualizing, and strategizing new medical communications projects and publications.
  • Represent Avalere Health in client meetings, advisory boards, speaker-training meetings, and business development initiatives.
  • Oversee content allocation, final review, and client-facing presentation development.

Requirements

  • Degree in a scientific or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in medical or scientific writing.
  • Experience within a healthcare consultancy or medical communications agency preferred.
  • Ability to manage a variety of scientific content types, including high-volume publications.
  • Experience reviewing content for accuracy and flow.
  • Proven project ownership and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work proactively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong client communication skills and experience serving as a point of contact for clients and external experts.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring experience with junior writers.
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory guidelines for medical communications.
