Description

  • Define and drive the technical vision and direction for the Foundations engineering group.
  • Lead architecture decisions for integration patterns, caching infrastructure, and shared services.
  • Design APIs, data models, and internal systems that enable clinical and member-facing product teams.
  • Serve as the technical escalation point for complex platform issues and conduct design reviews.
  • Raise reliability and performance through SLOs, capacity planning, and incident-ready system design.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of high-priority, cross-team technical initiatives.
  • Improve application performance and reduce reliance on external APIs.
  • Build and maintain shared libraries, SDKs, internal APIs, and platform tooling.
  • Create documentation, examples, and guidelines for teams consuming platform services.
  • Embed testability, observability, and analytics into new features and platform services.

Requirements

  • ~8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant time as a senior/staff IC building production product experiences.
  • Experience owning and shipping multi-team projects in modern web stacks.
  • Experience working closely with product and design on user-facing features.
  • Comfort leading technical decisions in ambiguous domains and explaining tradeoffs clearly.
  • Strong full-stack ability to design APIs and data models, build UI, and implement monitoring and metrics.
  • Deep familiarity with at least one cloud provider and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Strong systems design instincts around reliability, performance, security, and cost.
  • Excellent debugging and incident-response skills using logs, traces, and data.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in healthcare, digital health, or regulated environments such as HIPAA, PHI, or SOC 2 (nice to have).
  • Exposure to EHRs, wearables integrations, or other health data platforms (nice to have).

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation of $200,000 - $280,000 based on location.
