Description

  • Own the UX across the game’s core systems, including flows, information architecture, interaction, and layout.
  • Design the HUD, menus, screens, and moment-to-moment input so they are clear and enjoyable to use.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and mock-ups, then carry them through to final implementation.
  • Build and wire up UI in Unreal (UMG) while working alongside a UI engineer.
  • Define and maintain a UI design system for the team and external vendors to follow.
  • Direct outsourced graphic designers on iconography, color, and visual polish.
  • Run playtests and iterate quickly as the game evolves.
  • Collaborate closely with internal team members to support the game’s player-facing experience end to end.

Requirements

  • 5+ years designing UI/UX for games, with at least one shipped title or substantial in-development work.
  • A strong portfolio of UI/UX work on systems-rich games that demonstrates process and thinking.
  • Proven ability to make complex systems simple and intuitive without flattening their depth.
  • Demonstrable understanding of cosy/life-sim/management games and adventure games.
  • Hands-on experience building UI in Unreal (UMG); some practical experience is strongly expected, though exceptional UX candidates with lighter Unreal experience will be considered.
  • Fluency with Figma and/or Adobe Suite.
  • Strong gaming experience and a clear focus on user experience, not just visual design.
  • Ability to design a hybrid game experience that balances accessibility for newcomers with depth for advanced players.

Benefits

  • Great compensation package and equity.
  • Private health insurance.
  • Pension.
  • Unlimited vacation days.
  • Flexible remote work hours as long as team members deliver results.
  • Ongoing expansion of benefits and perks to support the team.
