Description

  • Lead or participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings and the CAB process.
  • Facilitate release planning meetings with key stakeholders to determine release sequencing.
  • Validate that release deployment plans are accurately prepared and followed.
  • Ensure release deliverables, entry criteria, and exit criteria are completed by the required dates and deadlines.
  • Prepare release recommendations for each release or production change, including scope, schedule, deliverables, and rollback plan.
  • Review release recommendations with key stakeholders and oversee release decisions with cross-departmental impact in mind.
  • Maintain release management schedules for assigned systems.
  • Document and communicate release changes through release notes published to the internal team.
  • Coordinate go-live activities, including deployment plans, checklists, and pre- and post-release verification.
  • Maintain release management process documentation, standards, and methodology, and identify opportunities for process improvement.

Requirements

  • Experience facilitating release planning and coordinating release packages with stakeholders.
  • Experience participating in or facilitating Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings and processes.
  • Ability to document release recommendations, including scope, schedule, deliverables, and rollback plans.
  • Experience maintaining release schedules and communicating release changes through release notes.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate issues and risks that could affect scope or schedule.
  • Experience coordinating go-live activities and executing deployment plans and checklists.
  • Ability to work with engineers and project teams to understand the impact of branches and code merges.
  • Experience creating and maintaining process documentation and release management standards.
  • Ability to educate others on release methodology and strategy and incorporate user feedback into standards.
  • Experience leading release management activities in a cross-functional environment (preferred).
