Description

  • Develop mechanical product designs for existing and future AssetWatch products.
  • Create mechanical assemblies, fixtures, processes, and product refinements with internal and external partners.
  • Ensure sound manufacturing methods, material selection, structural integrity, regulatory compliance, and documentation across products.
  • Own component DFM/A, BOM detailing, drawings, instructions, and OTS part specifications in coordination with Supply Chain.
  • Develop assemblies in SolidWorks using top-down best practices.
  • Build and test product prototypes.
  • Help guide new products to production readiness.
  • Manage projects, maintain schedules, and communicate progress in a fast-paced remote environment.

Requirements

  • Experience developing consumer products in SolidWorks (CAD).
  • Expertise designing and testing waterproof enclosures.
  • Experience working with electronics assemblies and production processes.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and production methods, including injection molding, machining, fixturing, tooling, and factory process.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing engineering from drawings and revision control to DFM/DFA, test, and tooling design.
  • Hands-on experience building, breaking, and fixing real products.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to deliver solutions efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to thrive on new challenges in a fast-paced agile environment.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills for working with a remote team.
  • Nice-to-have: shipped a real-world hardware product at scale, worked with domestic or overseas manufacturing partners, designed for hazardous locations (ATEX, HAZLOC, or similar), built IoT devices, worked in a startup culture, driven process improvements, or designed for industrial and safety-regulated environments.
