Description

  • Independently manage a portfolio of complex cargo claims from initial filing through final resolution.
  • Negotiate settlements and process all related financial transactions accurately and on time.
  • Analyze claims trends to identify recurring issues, financial exposure, and opportunities for proactive improvement.
  • Present actionable claims findings and risk insights to leadership.
  • Lead high-level external communications and maintain relationships with external parties with minimal supervision.
  • Run scheduled meetings with external stakeholders, address complex inquiries, and capture action items for management.
  • Reconcile receivables and payables and maintain financial integrity across the claims portfolio.
  • Apply knowledge of releases, assignments of rights, payment methods, and claims regulations to protect the company’s interests.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members on claims processing and resolution practices.
  • Collaborate across internal departments to streamline claims operations and improve team efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or 3 years of professional experience in customer service, administrative support, or the insurance industry.
  • 5+ years of claims management experience required.
  • Cargo claims experience in a 3PL environment preferred.
  • Exceptional organization skills and high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite.
  • Ability to conduct basic risk analysis and general data reporting.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills.
