Description

  • Independently manage a portfolio of complex and high-value cargo claims from filing through final resolution.
  • Negotiate settlements and process all related financial transactions accurately and on time.
  • Analyze claims trends to identify recurring issues, financial exposure, and opportunities for proactive risk reduction.
  • Present actionable claims findings and recommendations to leadership.
  • Lead external communications and meetings with customers and other parties, resolving complex inquiries and tracking follow-up items.
  • Reconcile receivables and payables and oversee the financial integrity of the claims portfolio.
  • Use financial and legal understanding to determine appropriate payment methods and supporting documents such as releases and assignments of rights.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members on claims processing and best practices.
  • Optimize claims operations, maintain time standards, and strengthen cross-functional collaboration across internal departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or 3 years of professional experience in customer service, administrative support, or the insurance industry.
  • 5+ years of experience managing claims.
  • Cargo claims experience in a 3PL environment preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite.
  • Ability to conduct basic risk analysis and general data reporting.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills.
