Description

  • Design, operate, and continuously improve automated CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI to support zero-downtime deployments across multiple environments.
  • Support development teams with standardized deployment tooling, automation, and operational best practices.
  • Administer and support containerized workloads using Kubernetes (EKS) and Docker-based container platforms.
  • Configure and manage Linux-based servers and systems to host dynamic applications.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and/or AWS CDK for repeatable, auditable deployments.
  • Support provisioning and configuration of AWS services (EC2, EKS, ECS, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, etc.) and coordinate infrastructure changes (excluding AWS account/org administration).
  • Integrate security scanning into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Trivy, AWS Inspector, AWS Security Hub), perform vulnerability triage, and coordinate remediation with development teams.
  • Implement and manage IAM least-privilege policies, secrets, and encryption using AWS KMS, Secrets Manager, and SSM to ensure encryption in transit and at rest.
  • Configure and maintain monitoring and observability using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and centralized logging solutions, and support Tier 2/3 incident response and root-cause analysis.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (backlog grooming, sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives), track work in JIRA, produce and maintain technical documentation, and support Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) planning and exercises.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years implementing and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines for application deployment (GitLab CI experience preferred).
  • Experience with version control systems and building, configuring, and deploying containers (Docker, LXC, or similar).
  • Systems engineering experience configuring and administering Linux-based servers.
  • Developer experience with programming/scripting languages, web frameworks, and databases to support automation and debugging.
  • Experience deploying and configuring services using IaaS/cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCE, RackSpace/OpenStack); familiarity with AWS services listed in responsibilities is preferred.
  • Experience debugging cluster-based computing architectures and installing open-source monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt) and architecture for continuous integration, deployment, and continuous monitoring.
  • Familiarity with security tooling and practices (vulnerability scanning, IAM least-privilege, encryption at rest/in transit).
  • Ability to work in Agile teams and track work in JIRA using story-point estimation and sprint metrics.
  • U.S. work authorization required; ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability Determination (contingent employment subject to contract award and background investigation).
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure) are desirable.
