Description

  • Own complete vertical slices of cross-team and platform-level work from requirements through long-term operation.
  • Lead multi-quarter migrations, deprecations, and architectural pivots that span multiple teams.
  • Set the technical standard for designs, architecture, and AI-generated work in the domain.
  • Identify, evaluate, and drive platform-level opportunities with evidence, alternatives, and tradeoffs.
  • Define SLOs, observability, and shared on-call ownership for shipped systems.
  • Lead rearchitecture efforts in legacy or high-debt areas and carry migrations through deprecation.
  • Drive adoption of agentic AI-assisted development through internal tooling, workflows, and standards.
  • Engage directly with customers and partners during incidents, design reviews, and major rollouts.
  • Mentor Senior Engineers through code review, design partnership, pairing, and direct coaching.
  • Influence engineering practices across teams through written guidance, examples, and hands-on involvement.

Requirements

  • Track record as the technical owner of cross-team or platform-level initiatives.
  • Deep technical foundation in distributed systems, data infrastructure, and service architecture.
  • Proven ability to own complex systems from design through rollout and long-term operation.
  • Experience driving non-obvious technical investments in reliability, stack improvements, or platform capability.
  • Demonstrable depth with agentic AI-assisted development, including custom agents or AI-native tooling.
  • Ability to catch and correct plausible-but-wrong AI-generated designs or code.
  • Track record of mentoring and coaching Senior Engineers to higher levels of judgment and impact.
  • Strong customer and product orientation with experience validating problems and outcomes directly.
  • Clear written communication through design docs, reviews, and post-release writeups.
  • Demonstrated influence across team boundaries through technical credibility.
  • Experience defining org-wide AI adoption strategy (preferred).
  • Healthcare technology, HIPAA-regulated, or other regulated data domain experience (preferred).
  • Track record of incubating new product directions or greenfield platform capabilities (preferred).
  • Speaking, writing, or open-source presence reflecting broader technical influence (preferred).
  • Experience with Apache Spark, dbt, Kafka, Cassandra/Scylla, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, AWS, or polyglot services in TypeScript/Node, Python, Go, or Java/Kotlin (preferred).
