Description

  • Own the end-to-end architecture vision across the front end, back end, data pipelines, and AI agent harness as the platform grows.
  • Establish patterns, standards, and shared enablers that help teams build consistently and reduce silos.
  • Work hands-on with front-end and back-end teams through code contributions, reviews, and design leadership.
  • Drive distributed systems and event-driven architecture with reliability, observability, and security as core concerns.
  • Architect the AI agent harness to handle PHI and other sensitive data in a governed, auditable, HIPAA-compliant way.
  • Partner with data engineers, data scientists, and actuaries on the AWS and Databricks stack to align data pipeline architecture with analytics and decision-support layers.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to ensure PRDs contain enough detail to translate into technical designs.
  • Produce clear architecture documentation that teams can confidently implement from.
  • Assess existing codebases, surface technical debt, and define pragmatic paths to address it.
  • Mentor engineers and data engineers to strengthen architectural thinking and support the future platform team.

Requirements

  • 10+ years building and shipping production software with a generalist, full-stack range.
  • Proven experience owning architecture across multiple layers of a system, not just a single component.
  • Deep background in back-end and service development, plus enough front-end depth with modern frameworks to contribute effectively.
  • Strong experience with distributed systems and event-driven architecture, such as Kafka or a comparable technology.
  • Experience architecting data pipelines, ideally on cloud data platforms; Databricks/Spark familiarity is a plus.
  • Security and observability must be treated as design fundamentals.
  • Excellent written communication skills and the ability to turn complexity into actionable documentation.
  • History of mentoring engineers and driving cross-team initiatives through influence rather than authority.
  • Pragmatic, execution-grounded approach to architecture.
  • Experience working with healthcare or other regulated data environments, including HIPAA and PHI.
  • Domain knowledge in value-based care, payer, actuarial, or claims data.
