Description

  • Own the technical roadmap and architecture for the core simulation platform.
  • Build and maintain high-performance digital twins for RL, VLA training, controls validation, and CI/CD integration testing.
  • Design and scale cloud-native simulation pipelines for massively parallel workloads.
  • Develop distributed simulation systems that parallelize physics and rendering for rapid policy iteration.
  • Improve sim-to-real transfer by developing advanced contact models and actuator dynamics.
  • Lead the creation of sensor-realistic environments for camera, LiDAR, and depth-based perception testing.
  • Build dynamic and diverse simulated worlds that strengthen robot vision and perception capabilities.
  • Serve as the technical authority on simulation across Control and AI research teams.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to anticipate future simulation needs and drive tool evolution.

Requirements

  • Excellent C++ and Python programming skills.
  • Experience with software development best practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, and code quality standards.
  • Technical leadership experience in robotic simulation, including roadmap definition and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Understanding of robotics concepts such as kinematics, dynamics, controls, path planning, and system identification.
  • Experience with modern robotic simulators such as IsaacLab and MuJoCo.
  • Understanding of reinforcement learning and VLA models, with preferred experience in research or production environments.
  • Experience architecting and managing large-scale training workloads on cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience deploying parallel simulations with distributed computing frameworks such as Ray or Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with game engines such as Unity or Unreal.
  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in robotic simulation, or 5+ years with a graduate degree, in high-performance, contact-rich, dynamic environments.
