Description

  • Own and maintain the physical AI model roadmap, including product vision, milestones, and release cycles.
  • Drive integration, adaptation, and fine-tuning of foundation models into Apollo’s autonomy stack.
  • Translate customer use cases into model capability requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with data collection and evaluation teams on benchmarks, real-world evaluation, and deployment gate criteria.
  • Own the data strategy for model development, including what to collect, why, and the quality bar.
  • Align data technology and operations teams on collection methods, tooling, and quality expectations.
  • Define and prioritize use cases based on business impact, feasibility, and customer needs.
  • Synthesize user research, customer meetings, usage data, and sales feedback into product strategy.
  • Work with industrial design, user experience, and engineering teams on interactive features.
  • Define product features and communicate requirements to engineering through written documents, diagrams, and verbal communication.
  • Support product marketing, partner relationships, and adoption initiatives.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in product management.
  • Strong understanding of modern robot learning techniques, including imitation learning and reinforcement learning.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating, adapting, or fine-tuning models.
  • Strong familiarity with the constraints of running large neural networks on physical edge devices.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in performance tracking and data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to make decisions under uncertainty and prioritize velocity over perfection.
  • Ability to prioritize user feedback and advocate for it internally.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in mechanical, electrical, systems, robotics engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or MBA is helpful.
  • At least 10 years of experience in product management or engineering, including 5+ years leading product managers, with a track record of shipping complex hardware products.
  • Experience with autonomous robots or autonomous vehicles (nice to have).
  • Experience using simulation tools to improve user experience (nice to have).
  • Hands-on experience training or fine-tuning foundation models (nice to have).
  • Experience with data collection operations, including teleoperation fleets, annotation, and curation pipelines (nice to have).
  • Experience working with customers in light and heavy duty industrial environments (nice to have).
  • Experience with robotics and functional safety standards such as ISO 10218, ISO/TS 15066, ISO 13482, or RIA 15.08 (nice to have).
  • Ability to spend time on lab and manufacturing floors and travel to supplier and manufacturing sites as needed.
  • Ability to lift 15 pounds at times.

Benefits

  • Annual salary range of $215,000 to $245,000.
