Description

  • Design, simulate, implement, and test multi-layer mixed-signal PCBAs for humanoid robot motor drives.
  • Own motor driver PCBA designs across the full lifecycle from architecture concepting through release into mass production.
  • Create design documentation including schematics, block diagrams, test plans, procedures, and fabrication and assembly drawings.
  • Develop and execute validation and test plans for DVT and PVT, including test fixtures and laboratory evaluations.
  • Use advanced lab equipment such as high-bandwidth oscilloscopes and logic analyzers to evaluate prototypes against performance, safety, and reliability requirements.
  • Perform root-cause analysis on hardware and firmware defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage component lifecycle activities through PLM systems and coordinate with vendors and contract manufacturers.
  • Support design-for-manufacturability and design-for-assembly efforts during production scaling.
  • Collaborate with program management, systems, software, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing, and technical leadership teams.
  • Mentor junior electrical engineers on hardware design, documentation, and troubleshooting best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience designing, prototyping, and debugging PCB/PCBAs.
  • Experience interfacing with manufacturing teams during release and build activities.
  • Competence with CAD tools such as Altium or similar.
  • Experience developing and maintaining CAD design rules.
  • Experience with PLM systems such as Arena.
  • Experience with electronics lab tools and simulation tools such as LTSpice or PSpice.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce detailed build assembly instructions and diagrams.
  • Strong problem-solving and hardware debugging skills.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing using lab equipment.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% within the U.S. and internationally.
  • Nice to have: In-depth knowledge of three-phase PMSM/BLDC motor controls, field-oriented control, advanced switching topologies, thermal analysis, power protection schemes, and sensor integration.
  • Nice to have: Experience with functional safety standards such as ISO 13849-1 or IEC 61508.
  • Nice to have: Experience with communications protocols such as Ethernet, EtherCAT, or CAN, and embedded firmware/hardware co-design.
