Description

  • Drive continuous improvement across the Apollo humanoid robot’s electrical design, manufacturing, and field support processes.
  • Provide feedback and develop processes for design for manufacturing and test for PCBAs and wiring harnesses.
  • Work with supply chain to manage bills of materials, component sourcing, and component substitutions.
  • Partner with vendors and manufacturing teams before design release, during release, and through initial builds.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on system failures, performance issues, and production inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop design documentation to support system bring-up and field deployment.
  • Define and support compliance, EMI, EMC, safety, and reliability testing as needed.
  • Maintain processes for design release, product lifecycle management, manufacturing support, and engineering change orders.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams to integrate improvements.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management and PLM systems such as Arena.
  • Competence in CAD tools including Altium or similar tools.
  • Experience developing and maintaining CAD design rules.
  • Proven experience designing, prototyping, and debugging PCB/PCBAs.
  • Experience interfacing with manufacturing groups during release and build phases.
  • Familiarity with electronics lab tools and simulation tools such as LTSpice or PSpice.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including creating detailed build assembly instructions and diagrams.
  • Strong problem-solving and hardware debugging skills.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing using lab equipment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% within the U.S. and internationally.
  • Experience with robotics or complex electromechanical systems (preferred).

Benefits

  • Annual salary range of $160,000 to $200,000.
