Description

  • Set the architectural direction for the Interface platform and review designs and code.
  • Partner with product and program stakeholders to turn roadmap priorities into executable plans and predictable delivery.
  • Mentor engineers through design reviews, technical coaching, and structured feedback.
  • Develop operator-facing web applications and backend services for fleet management, robot monitoring, and production operations.
  • Design and build REST APIs and gRPC services that connect to robotics, customer WMS/ERP systems, and internal data pipelines.
  • Lead integration with customer automation systems, including PLCs, hardware safety systems, and messaging infrastructure in live production facilities.
  • Drive software quality by owning test strategy, observability, maintainability, and operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX, systems, hardware, applications, product, and deployment teams to deliver system-wide features and customer value.
  • Establish engineering standards and guide implementation across frontend, backend, and integration layers.
  • Unblock delivery risks and help the team ship high-quality software on a reliable cadence.

Requirements

  • Expert-level proficiency in Python and TypeScript; C++ experience is a plus.
  • Strong experience with React or similar modern frontend frameworks, including component-based architecture and state management.
  • Experience designing REST APIs, microservices, and gRPC or Protocol Buffers-based services for distributed systems.
  • Hands-on experience with OPC UA, EtherNet/IP, Profinet, or Modbus TCP for PLC and safety-system integration.
  • Experience using REST APIs, MQTT, AMQP, or Kafka for WMS, ERP, or related enterprise workflows.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, Kubernetes, Docker, and production deployment considerations.
  • Proven experience leading small engineering teams or owning technical direction while remaining hands-on.
  • Strong Git skills and experience with distributed development workflows.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 8-10+ years of professional experience building and shipping production software systems, including significant full-stack or distributed systems work.
  • 2+ years leading technical direction for a team or product area.
  • Experience deploying software into robotics, automation, logistics, or other operationally complex environments is strongly preferred.
  • Preferred: Experience with fleet management, task allocation, or multi-robot coordination systems.
  • Preferred: Prior experience as a Tech Lead, Staff Engineer, or equivalent in robotics, automation, logistics, or industrial software.
  • Preferred: Experience partnering closely with UI/UX teams and incorporating user feedback into product decisions.
