Description

  • Own the development of complex electronic components and sub-systems.
  • Design, simulate, implement, and test multi-layer mixed-signal PCBAs and wiring harnesses.
  • Rapidly prototype electrical systems at both the system and board levels.
  • Simulate and verify electronics and electrical system requirements.
  • Create design documentation including schematics, block diagrams, test plans, procedures, and fabrication and assembly drawings.
  • Collaborate with software, mechanical, thermal, systems, and manufacturing teams.
  • Conduct performance benchmarking and power analysis to improve efficiency and thermal management.
  • Develop and execute validation and test plans, including test fixtures and compliance testing against standards such as FCC, CE, and UL.
  • Perform debugging and root cause analysis for hardware and software defects.
  • Drive EMI/EMC/SI/PI and DFM/DFA best practices.
  • Own the full lifecycle of electronics and electrical systems from concept and architecture through production release and ongoing support.
  • Manage vendor, contract manufacturer, and external design services relationships.
  • Mentor junior engineers on hardware design, documentation, and troubleshooting best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in electronics development.
  • Preferred experience with end effectors/end of arm tooling (EOAT), prosthetics, wearables, motor drives, firmware, Ethernet, EtherCAT, CAN, and wiring harnesses.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management and PLM systems such as Arena.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools such as Altium or similar software.
  • Proven experience designing, prototyping, and debugging PCB/PCBAs and working with manufacturing during release and build.
  • Experience using electronics lab tools and simulation tools such as LTSpice or PSpice.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to create detailed build and assembly instructions and diagrams.
  • Strong problem-solving and hardware debugging skills.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing using lab equipment.
  • Experience with robotics or designing electronics for lightweight, space-constrained systems is a plus.
  • Nice-to-have expertise in power electronics, battery and charger development, high-speed digital or compute carrier board design, functional safety, compliance, or DFx.
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements including sitting for long periods, lifting up to 15 pounds, reading printed materials and computer screens, and communicating verbally.
