Description

  • Design, build, and improve the core libraries, frameworks, and tools used by engineers day to day.
  • Improve the speed and reliability of developer infrastructure, including the Bazel build system and Buildkite CI/CD.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve code quality, testability, and release processes.
  • Own technical and product decisions for areas of expertise from day one.
  • Establish best practices and standards that create a clear path for development.
  • Work cross-functionally to support the needs of a rapidly evolving business.
  • Collect user feedback and incorporate it into tooling and infrastructure decisions.
  • Contribute to a thoughtful, dynamic team culture while helping increase developer velocity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience building high-quality software products and tools.
  • Experience focusing on quality, reliability, and developer ergonomics in technically challenging domains.
  • Ability to own products end to end, from underlying infrastructure to engagement metrics.
  • Language expertise in Go, C++, Python, or TypeScript preferred.
  • Experience creating or maintaining libraries, frameworks, and APIs.
  • Passion for code quality and raising engineering standards across an organization.
  • Drive and initiative to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Nice to have: experience in automotive, autonomy, robotics, or related industries.
  • Nice to have: experience with service architecture and middleware such as gRPC, Fx (Golang), or SQLAlchemy.
  • Nice to have: experience with build, CI, and deployment tools such as Bazel, Buildkite, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or Ansible.
  • Nice to have: experience deploying software on public clouds like AWS or GCP, or on-premise clusters.
  • Nice to have: deep knowledge of Linux operating systems and surrounding software ecosystems.

  • Base salary of $120,000 - $300,000 USD annually.
