Description

  • Lead designers and report directly to the VP of Product Management.
  • Set the craft bar for design critique, research review, prototyping, interaction quality, and accessibility.
  • Coach the team on Jobs to be Done methods and turn interview findings into backlog-ready job stories.
  • Define AI UX principles, guardrails, and pattern libraries for agentic and ML-powered experiences.
  • Create evaluation approaches to test whether UX patterns work and are trustworthy.
  • Improve handoff standards, technical documentation, and collaboration between UX, Engineering, and Product.
  • Drive research standards, methods, tooling, sampling rigor, and bias-aware practice.
  • Own Design Ops and Research Ops, including tooling, templates, participant recruitment, and scalable processes.
  • Shape the design system strategy with Engineering so consistency is built into the workflow.
  • Hire, onboard, develop, and evaluate UX team members while stewarding the career framework.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of substantial UX experience with depth in both user research and product design.
  • At least 5 years managing designers and/or researchers directly.
  • Hands-on Jobs to be Done experience, including switch interviews and job story creation.
  • Experience designing or leading design for AI- or ML-powered features.
  • Deep knowledge of research methods, including interviewing, surveys, usability testing, ethnographic work, and mixed-method study design.
  • Strong interaction design, information architecture, and prototyping skills.
  • Experience defining outcome-based UX metrics and using them to influence a roadmap.
  • Strong understanding of Agile design-to-engineering handoffs.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous, cross-functional problems.
  • B2B or enterprise SaaS experience, ideally in developer- or IT-adjacent products.
  • Experience in the Atlassian ecosystem or a comparable platform ecosystem (preferred).
  • Experience scaling a design system or research repository from scratch (preferred).
  • Experience building or rewriting a UX career framework and leveling criteria (preferred).
  • Background contributing to an accessibility conformance program (preferred).
