Description

  • Build production-grade frontend experiences for enterprise client accounts in React and Next.js.
  • Translate product-level objectives into clear engineering tasks and own the technical approach.
  • Turn Figma designs into reusable component libraries and design-system primitives.
  • Connect interfaces to backend and third-party APIs while handling loading, error, empty, and partial-data states.
  • Write clear technical documentation, schemas, and architectural flows for teammates to use.
  • Plan and sequence work across multiple client projects and provide recommendations on implementation.
  • Proactively identify risks and gaps and create spike tickets to de-risk uncertain work.
  • Write tested, maintainable TypeScript that follows each client codebase’s conventions.
  • Self-review code before QA and conduct code reviews to maintain quality standards.
  • Communicate progress, surface risks early, and use AI coding tools thoughtfully while keeping engineering judgment central.

Requirements

  • 5+ years building production frontend applications with deep, current React expertise.
  • Strong experience on enterprise-grade accounts, products, or projects.
  • Prior agency experience and experience working as an independent contractor.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients or projects in parallel.
  • Excellent professional English, spoken and written.
  • Track record of owning frontend features end-to-end from ambiguous requirements to production.
  • Strong frontend fundamentals, including semantic HTML, modern CSS, responsive design, and browser behavior.
  • Experience translating Figma designs into accurate, responsive, accessible interfaces.
  • Experience integrating REST or GraphQL APIs and managing client and server state.
  • Strong quality discipline with typed, tested code and self-review before QA.
  • Ability to estimate work, commit within a delivery cycle, and reliably deliver.
  • Strong written communication and proactive independent work in a fully remote team.
  • Reliable overlap with standard US Central Time business hours.
  • Fluent, practical use of AI coding tools as part of the engineering workflow.
  • Based in Latin America and able to work as an independent contractor.
  • Experience with headless or eCommerce frontends such as Shopify Hydrogen or headless commerce is preferred.
  • Experience building or maintaining a design system or component library across multiple products is preferred.
  • Familiarity with frontend testing and CI tooling such as Playwright, Vitest or Jest, and Testing Library is preferred.
  • Experience working in a points-based or sprint-based delivery model is preferred.
  • A portfolio, GitHub, or code samples that can be shared is preferred.
